After “Drive” hit 20 million streams, the band recorded and released this stripped down version of the song as a big thank you to fans.
Besides being a mellow and slower rendition of the original, “Drive // Stripped” has a few unique features of its own. The most obvious is the inclusion of extra vocals such as additional male parts and more harmony. The chord progression in the first verse is also different, as it contains only two chords, evenly spaced per measure.
This track is included in the 2016 EP, “This Is What It’s Like,” released in the same month.
